Merapi Volcano Museum (MGM), that is predicted be geo-tourism in the province is expected to be a vehicle for sustainable conservation education and the development of the science of disaster volcanoes, earthquakes, and other natural disasters.

Location MGM is located in the slopes of Merapi, precisely on Jalan Boyong, Hamlet Bull, Village Hargobinangun Pakem Sleman.

With a building area of about 4.470 that stood on the land area of 3.5 acres, next to the museum will also be equipped with a garden, parking area, and this plaza wish known to the public as a 'Museum of Merapi Volcano, Merapi window Earth'.

Volcano Museum can be used as a means of education, information dissemination kegunungapian particular aspects and other geological disaster are recreational-educative for the public in order to provide insight and understanding of the scientific aspects, as well as socio-cultural and others related to the volcano and Other sources of geological disaster.

The information presented in the museum of volcanoes include:
